Meetings take place in Chester, however the responsibility is for services across West Cheshire, Halton and North East Wales.
Vision Support is a regional charity governed by a Board of Trustees all of whom are volunteers. We currently have 3 vacancies on the Board.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of Vision Support. This includes responsibility for the Charity's financial health, probity of its activities and development of its aims, objectives and goals in accordance with Memorandum and Articles of Association.
Essential qualities include the ability to think strategically, understand the need to act corporately and have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities. Desirable qualities include an understanding of vision impairment, professional financial qualifications and experience, legal knowledge/experience and experience of charity management.
There is a commitment to attend five meetings per year, plus preparation for meetings (reading/scrutinising papers and accounts), possible membership of sub-committees (optional), one Strategic Review Day per year and attendance at events to represent the charity (ad hoc and subject to individual availability)
