Enthusiastic and committed volunteers are required to support the fundraising activities of this local charity which raises money to improve the facilities for mothers, babies and children at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
So far well over one million pounds has been raised which has been used to provide amongst other things a water birth suite, family suite for bereaved parents, a baby memorial garden at Blacon cemetery, adolescent unit where teenagers recieve treatment in a more appropriate environment, and en-suite and private accommodation for parents of sick and preamature babies. Christopher Wing originally provided by Gill and Tim Worral provides en-suite accommodation for parents of children nursed on the wards.
Money is currently being raised in order for the following to take place:
Refurbishment of the Comfort Zone, to provide a Transitional Care Unit where mothers of ill or premature babies can learn to care for their babies with supervision until they have gained confidence
Refurbisment of Christopher Wing, which is comprehensive accommodation for parents of sick children
refurbishment of the neonatal unit.
The role may include:
Helping organising and running fundraising activities in the hospital and community. Each year we take part in the United Charities Fair and the Cheshire Show at Tabley.
Helping to apply for grants and to trusts to develop the Appeal
Helping with PR and Media to promote the Appeals activities
To manage and develop a Corporate Sponsorship Scheme
