The AGE UK Cheshire Information and Advice team operates at the heart of your community. Our principle objective is to promote the independence of older people and has a great reputation for improving the quality of their lives. We believe that older people should be respected and valued as individuals in terms of their dignity, status, personal autonomy, diversity of needs, aspirations and expectations.

As an Information and Advice volunteer you will develop the skills to sign post our clients to a range of services both within and outside AGE UK. Providing accurate information on a diverse range of issues. From making them aware of their rights, help maximize income by identifying eligible welfare benefits to advising them of events in their area that help address social isolation.


Have a desire to provide a great customer service and support Enjoy and thrive working in teams and with others Passionate about supporting vulnerable people in the community Keen to develop a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities available to the elderly. An encourager, eager to share your knowledge and experience to help others.

Our telephone service operates between 11am -3 pm on weekdays. If a volunteer could cover one of those shifts a week, that would be great contribution.

The opportunity is based in Chester City Centre but we are also seeking Outreach volunteers, to cover Cheshire West and parts of Cheshire East
