About the opportunity

Winsford Youth Forum works with and on behalf of children and young people throughout Winsford by providing a range of activities, facilities and services. There is a junior and senior club plus a Adult with special needs group in Wharton. As a volunteer you will share your skills with and be working with young people engaged in a range of activities put on for them at the club. You will be supporting, teaching and training young people and encouraging them to get involved in what ever activities are taking place at the sessions. Activities vary and range from fun activities, music/drama, singing and performances, jewellery making, arts & crafts, table tennis, canoeing ( in season)

Volunteers need to be interested in young people and appreciate some of the backgrounds and difficulties they may face. Any Youth work qualifications would be useful in this role.
A keen interest in any of the skills mentioned would be very useful and help to engage young people.
For any of the risky activities particular standards and qualifications would be required eg for canoeing.

Volunteers need to be 18+ or 16+ for Junior Youth club. You will be supporting, teaching and training young people and adults with special needs. Probation period in place as part of the recruitment procedure. References will be require. An enhanced DBS check will also be required. Volunteers need to be available for evening sessions and possibly Saturdays. Travel expenses by arrangement.
