Description

DSN is a charity which provides a wide range of services across Cheshire to improve the lives of Deaf and hard of hearing people.

We are seeking volunteers to support the HAnD (Health Awareness and D/deafness) project which delivers accessible Health Information Workshops for D/deaf people living in Cheshire. The workshops provide D/deaf people with access to health information, opportunities to ask questions of Health professionals in a 'safe' environment, gain tools to live healthier lifestyle, and the opportunity to become involved in any local Health campaigns.

Support DSN project worker/s with the planning, delivery and evaluation of health awareness workshops - Provide support with communication if required - Prepare and set up the rooms for the workshops - Sign attendees in - Prepare and serve refreshments to attendees.

Skills:

- Able to work as part of a team - Good communication skills and willingness to learn - BSL Level 1 or above is an advantage but not a requirement - Flexible and approachable with a positive attitude - Willingness to undertake relevant training
