About the opportunity
Do you have skills or relevant qualifications in website design? Are you interested in social media, environmental projects or open recreational spaces? Would you like to develop a website from scratch for a local committee looking after a local field in Park Gate?
The committee manage the field and are developing it into a species rich meadow to enhance its use for passive recreational purposes. The field attracts local visitors and dog walkers and is being seeded to create a spectacular wild flower meadow.
The website will keep members and the public aware of activities on the field and any new developments or news. It will be used as a marketing tool to encourage interest in the field and to bring in new members. If you have knowledge of social media sites and how to use them to good effect to keep members and the public up to date that would be a great help. Social media will keep the community informed about what is happening on the field and generate interest in what the Friends of Park Fields are doing with all the latest news and activities.
Volunteers applying will need access to a computer and can work from home.
The friends manage the field, arrange volunteer days to maintain the hedges and field and source funds for the work. The friends are also developing the field into a wild flower meadow and providing an educational area with ponds for schools to use. Friends recruit new members and encourage passive activities on the field. The friends maintain the notice boards, keep the public informed of activities and develop areas for education purposes.
Volunteers would need knowledge qualifications and skills in website design.
