The Sandstone Ridge Trust is run by a Board of up to ten Trustees who are responsible for the overall management of the Trust and its finances by establishing its strategic direction; agreeing those activities with which it will be involved and monitoring progress. These are exciting times for you to get involved with the Trust – following on from the successful conclusion of Ridge: Rocks and Springs, we are midway through another Heritage Lottery funded project in which we are exploring ways to secure the long-term future of the area. If you have an interest in becoming a Trustee this could be the role for you.

We are looking for Trustees to:

Represent and promote the work of the Trust to other organisations, potential partners and funders, and the general public

Attend regular meetings of the Board and any other committees or meetings as necessary

Support and contribute to the strategic decision making of the Board

Take an active role in supporting our volunteers and Trust activities where appropriate

 

What attributes/skills do you need?

A commitment to the Trust and its aims and objectives

A commitment to the values of the Trust

An empathy for conservation, heritage and working with the community

A ‘can do’ attitude that will help drive the Trust forward

A knowledge of Cheshire, its landscape, conservation and management

Experience of working with charities and/or the voluntary sector

Knowledge of the environment, rural regeneration, education, health and well being sectors

Good communication skills and a commendable sense of humour

 

How much time do you need to commit?

The role is flexible and you can give as much or as little time as you want to, but we suggest half a day or a day per week

A minimum commitment of 12 months to the role would be expected

 

What support will you be given?

Appropriate support and supervision in your role, including any training required

You will be responsible to the Chair of the Board of Trustees

Trustees and the HLF Transition Project Officer will be available for support, advice and guidance • Attendance at networking events
