Save the Family are looking for volunteers to lead sports sessions with our resident adults, children and young people. It is a great opportunity to gain experience in leading sports sessions and working with families in need. You could lead football, badminton, basketball, zumba or anything else sporty. We are looking for someone to lead sessions on Mondays between 6pm-8pm and anytime you could offer on Sundays.
Experience of leading sports sessions is desirable alongside a keenness to work with people of varying ages. Volunteers will be expected to build trusting relationships with service users over time. Therefore, an ability to communicate with and relate to others. Volunteers should also be patient and organised with a good sense of humour, calm, and level-headed. Volunteers are able to have subsidised meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have use of the on-site gym. Travel expenses are paid up to a cap of £10 per day of volunteering. All volunteers undergo an enhanced DBS check, supply two references and complete the Kirklees Online Safeguarding Training.
