A shop volunteer will be part of a fun and vibrant team playing a key part in making our customers feel welcome and keeping the shop well stocked and organised. You may also man the till and accept donations. The role will be helping with a wide range of tasks. You could get involved with anything, from keeping the shop tidy, sorting through new and donated goods, serving customers, to helping create window and shop displays.
This is a great opportunity to help raise funds for the Hospice, make new friends and learn new skills. The ideal candidate should be willing to be involved in a variety of tasks, from keeping the shop tidy, to serving customers on the shop floor. Preferred requirements are an ability to communicate politely with people at all levels, while having a smart & pleasant manner, be organised, possibly creative (relating to window display etc), be able to use a till (not essential) and talk to people on the telephone. We are currently looking to fill 4 hour shifts, but hours can be arranged to suit. The shop is situated in Neston.
The hospice believes everybody needs the highest quality of physical, emotional, social and spiritual care when they are living with a life threatening illness including Cancer, Motor Neurone disease, Multiple Sclerosis and HIV AIDS. We also believe families and carers need to be supported at this time. The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its service free of charge to people from Chester, Ellesmere Port, Deeside and rural Cheshire.
