The Safeguarding Officer is an important role at the camp to ensure the safety and well being of campers. You will be allocated to a team and complete the everyday Team Mate role but have special duties for Safeguarding. You will be first call for any Safeguarding issues that arise.
As a volunteer you will arrive the day before camp to prepare for the Campers arrival. There will be group training sessions to make sure you feel confident around using Therapeutic Recreation and all other aspects necessary to make sure the magic of Camp happens. The Camp is structured around activities food and fun.
Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding regulations and policies will be required in this role. You need to like children and be safe in caring for them and be able to place their needs first!
The training days aim to pull the strength out of each individual and to the fore-front and share them with the rest of the team.
This is a residential volunteer role and will take place where ever the camp is situated. DBS check is a requirement.
