Description

Do you like books and reading and could you pass on that love to young children? Full training given and Enhanced DBS police check is required for the role.
Helpers required to volunteer in primary schools to support pupils aged between 4 to 11 years with reading and related activities. Each volunteer has the same three pupils that they see twice a week for half an hour each pupil. This only happens in school term time. In that half hour you will be making a positive contribution to a young persons education and development. By supporting pupils you will be encouraging them to be independent readers, love the world of books, increasing their reading ability which has a positive knock on affect on all their other school work.
Volunteers visit a locally appointed school twice a week for approximately 1.5 hours during term time and make a massive difference to a young persons life.
You don't need experience you will have training before you start and during your time as a volunteer. The most important element is that volunteers are reliable and dependable.
