EPNAVCO is the Ellesmere Port and Neston Association of Voluntary and Community Organisations. We are an infrastructure organisation, providing support to voluntary and community organisations in Ellesmere Port and Neston.
Could you help someone to use a keyboard or a mouse or help them gain basic computer skills? An IT buddy helps to provide 1:1 support to adults learning computer skills, some will be using a computer for the first time and will rely on your help and support.
You need to be reasonably competent in IT but you don't have to be an expert.
Adults using the drop in have varying ability and levels of IT knowledge, but need the help and support of a more experienced IT user. Volunteers will help people build up their confidence using computers by passing on their own knowledge. This is a role that will give the volunteer the experience of coaching, supporting and teaching adults and the satisfaction of seeing them develop useful IT skills.
Volunteers in this role must be patient, friendly and approachable. You need to be diplomatic and confident and proactive in assisting people. Experience of helping or coaching adults would be useful, but is not essential providing you are able to help people with a variety of backgrounds and capabilities
