Suitable for under 18s

Volunteers needed to help support social events and activities for adults over 18 with learning disabilities and/or autism.  The organisation is a friendship and dating agency which helps people with learning difficulties feel comfortable and enjoy social events. Social events will include bowling, cinema or meals out.  Support volunteers attend group activities and also accompany members on dates to ensure their safety.  One to one support is given to people and support with journey planning and travel.  Activities take place in various locations.

No experience needed but volunteers need to be patient, enjoy socialising, have the ability to travel, be able to put people at their ease and having some understanding of Autistic Spectrum Condition would be useful.  DBS check will be required and two references needed. Training and support is provided by the organisation.  Mileage and expenses are paid to volunteers for attending events.  Activities take place at various times and includes some evening, daytime and week-ends so the role will suit someone requiring flexibility.

Only registered members can apply for opportunities.
