Description

An organisation with a lovely paved raised garden would like some help from an enthusiastic gardener to tend, plant, pot and trim the existing plants and develop it further. There is a sitting area, a small raised vegetable bed, shrubs, flowers, beds, bird feeders and pots to tend. This isn't a massive area that needs digging or working, but it needs someone with an eye to maintaining what is there and look at ways of developing or improving the site and what could be planted to bring more colour to a lovely outdoor space. Volunteers would need to know how to maintain the plants, when to pot and trim plants and what seasonal work needs doing.
There could be opportunities to involve the people being helped at the centre to engage with some of the simple tasks or activities, such as watering or planting pots etc Flexible times and hours to suit. Access to the garden is Mon to Friday 9.30 to 4.30. A Criminal Record Check (DBS) will be required.

Friendly person, able to chat and have good communication skills. Reasonably good gardening skills, knowledge of how to maintain a garden, the plants, grow some veg and what seasonal work needs doing. Reliable and honest.
If you are able to share your knowledge or help others engage in activities in the garden this would be very helpful in this role.

Only registered members can apply for opportunities.
