Making space is a Health and social Care organisation and registered charity supporting people who suffer mental health conditions, learning disabilities or dementia. We also provide elderly persons care. Volunteers are needed to provide befriending and support to an individual to encourage them to participate in local activities and exercise classes within the local community. Support and assist people to maximise their independence as part of a structured programme. Volunteers can make a difference to people's lives. Full training will be provided. This is a good opportunity for volunteers wishing to train or work in the care system, social care, mentoring, support work, or coaching clients to become fitter or more mobile.
Good communication skills with a wide range of people. Able to form effective relationships with people. Able to share experiences. Good written communication & IT skills. It is important to have relevant skills to assist vulnerable adults. It is important that volunteers have a positive outlook, are enthusiastic, reliable, non-judgemental, patience, are Committed to equal opportunities and aware of issues facing vulnerable adults.
All Volunteers will be required to fill in an application form and References will be needed. Volunteers will undertake an informal interview and a DBS check will be required. There is no age restriction and Training will be given. We are looking for Volunteers from Monday to Sunday AM or PM.
