About the opportunity

Volunteers run a day centre each Monday in Willaston. Volunteers look after 12 elderly people who attend for the day, making tea and coffee and provide care and help to the elderly visiting our centre. Volunteers communicate with the visitors, entertain them and serve them refreshments and lunch. Two shifts from 10.00am to 12.30pm and 12.30 to 3.00pm. In the afternoon session they play bingo and word games.

Morning sessions 10.00 to 12.30pm include - Pick up and transport facility to get clients to the Royal British Legion in Willaston, 10.15am. Coffee and biscuits & companionship.
Afternoon session (12.30 to 3.00) starts with a Home cooked lunch, followed by after lunch activities including Bingo, work games etc.
Drop off facility to take people home.

Good communications skills with elderly people, friendly, patient, caring nature. Food hygiene would be useful. Art, craft, hobby skills would be useful as well as playing word games or bingo. Able to be a team player and work happily alongside other volunteers.
