Description

About the opportunity

CLS is a charitable organisation that provides quality care for older people. CLS aim to make a difference to people's lives by treating them with dignity and respect and by supporting them in CLS Homes to meet their individual needs and continue as far as possible to enjoy the lifestyle of their choice.

Volunteers are recruited from a range of backgrounds to reflect the wider community. Volunteers role is to support residents to enjoy the lifestyle of their choice through the continuation of a range of activities which matter to them. Volunteers can respond to individual interests of the residents and make arrangements for activities, in consultation with staff members. Volunteers are key to promoting the independence of residents by enabling them to retain their abilities for as long as possible.

Activities might include taking residents shopping, reading a book or a newspaper to them or going to church with them. If you have knowledge of crafts or hobbies that might interest or entertain residents you can use these skills in the home to enrich their lives.

Volunteers must have an interest in helping elderly residents. The ability to treat all people with respect, care, integrity and diligence is very important. Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential. Honesty and the ability to treat information confidential are essential. Volunteers have an induction, appropriate training and they are appointed a mentor to help them full fill their role. Volunteers will need a DBS check

Only registered members can apply for opportunities.
