About the opportunity

This is an ideal volunteer role for anyone who enjoys or has an interest in photography. The organisation provides free Therapeutic Recreation residential camps to give fun and respite to young people with life-limiting illnesses. The camps are great fun for the residents and the volunteers. All parties gain a great deal of satisfaction from the relationships they develop and the activities they do. Part of the success of the camp is recording the activities for the campers and the recorder's role does just that. The recorder creates a pictorial record of the activities the campers take part in, including indoor and outdoor activities, the highs and the fun the campers have on their residential. You will be kept busy attending the events and activities that take place over the week and the photography will create a lasting record of the fun and achievements of the young people attending.

Over The Wall is a national UK children’s charity and a member of the international Serious Fun Children’s Network. OTW provides free of charge Therapeutic Recreation camps to help children with life-limiting illnesses and their families, reach beyond the perceived limitations of illness to rediscover a whole new world of possibilities. Through participation in a proven programme of fun-filled recreational and educational activities, our camps help promote inclusion whilst developing the confidence, self-esteem, coping strategies and peer relationships of all our campers.
