A typical cadet unit hosts 50/50 boys and girls aged 12-17 years of age from varied and diverse backgrounds and consists of up to 20 cadets and 4 cadet staff.
As a cadet staff you will support the scheme in providing the cadets with an insight into working within a uniformed service as well as encouraging them to develop personally, socially and with self discipline.
In a team environment, cadet staff promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing by organising structured activities which develop cadets to take informed decisions regarding their future career and life opportunities.
Must have to commitment to attend the weekly drill night at a designated station and on a regular basis, is vital for this role. We do have roles within the cadet scheme that do not require involvement with drill yard activities, if you feel you are able to offer skills such as administration, events and activity support.
The duration of the drill night is normally 3 hours and will take place on the same evening each week, (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday dependent on station). Roles available in the Ellesmere Port area an evening per week 6pm-9pm with the possibility of weekend and holiday events. To apply you need to be over 18 years old. Expenses paid. Induction and training given and shadow training for new volunteers.
