Description

Over The Wall  provides free Therapeutic Recreation residential camps to give fun and respite to young people with life-limiting illnesses.  The camps are great fun for the residents and the volunteers.  All parties gain a great deal of satisfaction from the relationships they develop and the activities they do.  The role of the Activity Leader is extremeley rewarding with lots of hard work and fun. The Activity Leader is responsible for planning and delivering activities to campers.  This is a great role for anyone who might have a specific interest or talent in games, music, arts and crafts or drama.

Skills, experience or talents in art, games, music, crafts or drama would be very useful for this role.  You must be safe to care for children and like helping and working, communicate well with them and put them at their ease.  You must be friendly and be able to place the children's needs first and ensure that they are safe.  You must be reliable and responsible.

Please note that the Residential camps are held in the following areas in G Britain in the late spring and summer:- Staffordshire, Lichfield, Perth Scotland & Dorset.
Volunteers need to be over 18 and will require a DBS check.  Please apply in plenty of time for your application to be dealt with before the dates of the camps.  Food and accommodation is free but there is a £30 admin fee. Camp is for a week but volunteers arrive earlier for training.  Training on Therapeutic Recreation & induction given prior to campers arriving.  Team & Activity Leaders arrive earlier for more specific training.
