Would you like to raise funds for a charity that offers help and support for parents and families who have children with heart defects or feeding issues? The children the charity helps are under 5 year old. The charity offers a free Home Support Service to give parents time to rest and have some respite from the full responsibility of caring for a child with heart defect or feeding difficulties. Parents are offered physical at-home and in hospital support while they need it. Volunteers help a unique national charity which provides emotional and physical support to families.
Their aim is to raise £100,00 a year to support their vital respite service. Fundraising events are held across the country and volunteers are encouraged to hold their own events or come up with ideas of how to raise funds. £1,500 raised will run a Jungle Club for a year, £10.00 raised provides a Family File, £45.00 raised provides a volunteer for a month and £100 can train a new volunteer. As a Fundraiser could you run a Pub Quiz, plan a Teddy Bear picnic, organise a Five a Side team event, conduct a Charity Auction or arrange a Bike ride? Fundraisers can organise these events or help out at arranged events. Fund raising is key to the foundation and the support service it offers to families.
Volunteers will develop fund raising skills, planning and organisational skills, as well as marketing skills. Fundraisers can be an individual, friends, work colleagues, small groups, students or employers. It can be a one event or a bigger project or part of a chosen charity of the year in a company or organisation. Willing volunteers are always welcome to fund raise or help at planned events.
