We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly volunteers for a fun run in aid of the Neuromuscular Centre, Winsford, which is the Centre of Excellence for People with Muscular Dystrophy. Our Easter Bunny run is now in its second year, and is a 3km or 5km distance in Blakemere's stunning woodland surroundings. It is a fun run with a bit of a difference - there are 100 paper eggs hidden along the route, which participants are encouraged to find and bring back to be exchanged for real Easter Eggs.
This is a family friendly event suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Included in participant entry is a set of flashing bunny ears to wear for the run, plus a goody bag upon completion filled with Easter treats. Dogs are also very welcome to join in and we are hoping the route will be fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, though this is weather dependent.
We are looking for volunteers to help in a number of areas, including:
- Marshalling the route
- Helping on the Registration tent, signing up participants and handing out flashing bunny ears
- Selling raffle tickets
- Handing out goody bags at the end.
What we will provide you with:
- The opportunity to work on a large-scale Fundraising Event with a friendly team
- Experience of many aspects of Event Management
- CV reference.
We are a small team and are completely reliant on volunteers to make our events happen, and are extremely grateful for support. Volunteer roles run from 10am until 3pm, but if you can't commit for the whole time, we are still very keen to hear from you as a number of roles only require an hour or two of your time so please do get in touch. Last year, this event raised over £3,000 for our charity and we're hoping for even more this year! The money raised goes directly towards supporting people with muscular dystrophy in Cheshire and beyond.
