Description

We seek an additional trustee with expertise in finance to support our current treasurer. The candidate will be asked to provide strategic financial oversight, and eventually, to take over the Treasurer role on the event of the retirement of the current Treasurer. As our organisation grows in service delivery and financial complexity, it is prudent that we have suitable skills at board level to guide us in areas such as investment, approaches to pensions and other matters. The new trustee will be joining a new cohort of board members who have been recruited in order to ensure that we govern with the skills and experience that will enable us to face challenges with the tools we will require.

The new trustee will be an active member of the board of trustees and, in addition to attending board meetings, will be involved in committee work, task groups, and keeping us abreast of financial developments in the not for profit sector.

High level finance and financial oversight skills. It is not crucial that they have worked in charities before, there is training and advice available for this. What is important is that the successful appointment is happy to work with teams of skilled volunteers (the board of trustees), the small staff team and, annually, the auditor/independent examiner.
